GARMIN Nuvi 1490T

The large screen yet ultra-slim nüvi1490T offers multiple-point routing to make your journey - anywhere in Europe - as easy as possible. It has Lane Guidance and Junction View for supreme route awareness. It includes Bluetooth® wireless technology for hands-free phone calls, pan-European premium traffic avoidance and ecoRoute? to calculate a more fuel-efficient route.

Slimmer and more convenient
Twenty-five percent slimmer than other nüvis, the 1200, 1300 and 1400 series are ideal travelling companions. nüvi 1490T has the advantage of having a 5-inch widescreen to make it even easier to see where you are going. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes it convenient for navigation by car or foot. Take advantage of the 1490T's new Pedestrian mode by downloading optional CityXplorer? (coming soon) to navigate selected cities via trains, tube or buses.

Plan Ahead
nüvi 1490T includes advanced navigation features to take the worry out of travelling. With route planning you can save 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns on the 1490T's large screen. In addition, nüvi 1490T automatically sorts multiple destinations to provide an efficient route for errands, deliveries or sales calls. A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you've been on the map.

Simplicity and safety
Avoid last-minute panics and lane changes with Lane Guidance which tells you exactly where you are meant to be in plenty of time. Junction view shows you realistic pictures of upcoming junctions so you get a clear idea of what is ahead of you.
nüvi 1490T's built-in Cyclops safety camera database contains details on hundreds of fixed, mobile and temporary safety cameras. When you approach a camera, it sounds an alert and shows an overspeed warning and the speed limit to help you travel responsibly.

'Where Am I?' gives you details about your position on demand which is useful especially if a trip doesn't go to plan or if you want to record a gps location quickly. Simply tap the car icon for your exact coordinates, nearest address, contact details for your appropriate vehicle recovery service and directions to nearby hospitals, police and petrol stations.

nüvi 1490T is preloaded with mapping coverage for all of Europe and has points of interest such as places to visit and restaurants. Its intuitive screen asks "Where To?" and "View Map." Just touch the colour screen to look up addresses and services with voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names. HotFix? satellite prediction enables nüvi to calculate your position faster to get you there quicker.

The Garmin Lock?, anti-theft protection system uses GPS to lock the unit to a secure location of your choice.
