An exceptional pro flash, the limits are virtually boundless. Nikon have kept the amount of buttons to a minimum but if you delve into the settings there is something for everyone, utilising Nikons Creative Lighting System and with settings such as i-TTL, repeat mode, the SB-800's own auto setting, Manual with flash compensation, slave setting and wirless mode to name but a few. There is also a clever little setting called FV Lock (flash value lock) which in simple terms means that you can get the correct flash exposure on off centre subjects. There is a good selection of handy accessories included, especially the power booster which replaces the exsisting battery cover, this enables rapid firing on full TTL (one for the Paparazzi..!). There is the usual bounce, swivel and af-illuminator you would expect with flashguns of this price. I started using this gun with my Nikon Coolpix 8700 which was great, but now I have a D70s and my flash photography has improved to new boundaries.

Ease of use, simple layout of buttons and controls, Good Guide number range, accessories includes Dome diffuser gel filters, power boost battery pack, |
The price I suppose, but then again the Canon equivelent is £50 quid more than the Nikon. |
