A great camera that punches way above its weight in terms of features, image and sound quality. The SD card format removes the amount of motors being used and therefore prolongs the battery life to 4 hours off a standard cell. Wide screen and standard formats are easy to switch between and it has a fun (if somewhat noddy at 640x480) still image feature. The standard, non-HD filming is perfect, low light performance isn't bad at all. This is a great pick-up-and-shoot camera for everyone...

UNTIL...

you try to do anything at all with the films you've taken. The software that comes with the cmaera is clunky and limited to say the very least but, worst of all, there is the semi-proprietary .MOD film format. Sorry, JVC, but you fell over badly with this one. Pity, because the camera is great.
